The glass is half full

Christmas tree

Tomorrow I head back to work and will no doubt be faced with endless “Did you have a good Christmas?”es. In a workplace where most people would have been abroad during the holidays, I have to say that I stayed in London for the entire 2 weeks and that it was LOVELY!

Ah, who am I kidding??? The kids had fun, sure (even though they moaned about everything at various times) – they always have fun on holidays because they have two parents and a grandmother who entertain them when it’s pissing down rain outside. We took them to museums and play centres and play dates and ice skating and swimming and plays and the half days that we were not out and about we let them watch Spiderman 1 AND 2!

But as for me – was is a good break? Well – I would have rather sat on a beach in Barbados for two weeks.

7 years of parenthood has taught me something though – your holidays are never your own again and they are never ever for actually resting.

So there. It was a break. I got to sleep a lot (thank goodness I at least don’t have insomniac babies anymore), I got to run, I got a nice dress from Baukjen (online sale!) and two silk shirts from Massimo Dutti (online sale!) and I got to stay away from the awful cold that my mother and hubs have at the moment.

The glass is half full.
