Video: Two weeks on the sunny side of the planet

I’ve decided – I will never be a YouTuber. I edited this video for over 4 hours on Saturday and it took me 4 days to finally manage to get it to upload to YouTube!

The first file I saved was 6 GB. As if that would ever work.

I took down the quality and the second file was over 600 MB. Nope, no go.

I cut out a minute of clips and took down the resolution as well as quality and ended up with a 300 MB video.

This one uploaded but doesn’t look as sharp as the original. If only I had more energy left for this little project!

When I looked at all the videos I had taken while in Australia I realised that I had not actually taken any touristy shots of Sydney or Canberra or any of food! What the heck was I thinking. At least I did take a lot of photos as well and I’m sure you’ve all caught up with them over on my Instagram account. If you haven’t, I don’t know what you’re thinking – Instagram is where all the fun is these days. Seriously, get yourself an account asap. And follow me πŸ˜‰

Despite it being so freaking time consuming, it was fun making this video. I learned a lot about how I should film and how I should talk (or rather – that I should not talk at all πŸ˜‰ and I learned quite a few things about iMovie and YouTube as well.

If the spirit strikes me to do another video, I hope it won’t take me so bloody long. I just need to figure out what is the magic length, resolution and quality for YouTube videos to upload in less than 24 hours and still look decent.
