I’m a 44-year old mother/runner/Crossfitter. I don’t know which comes first. Or if there is an order. I live in London, I work in Amsterdam. Yup, such is the modern life. Hashtag brexit. Hashtag brexitmovedmyjobtoHolland.
I write because… because I want to and because I’ve done it in some form or another since I was 13. Writing helps introverts sort out their thoughts and it’s a tiny way to not bottle everything up.
I don’t make sense to myself.
I’m an overthinker who struggles with anxiety but I’m also an optimist who believes the present and the future are bright.
I sleep a lot and am often tired and don’t want to get out of bed at all, but I run, lift, swim, rock-climb 6-7 days a week.
I don’t care when people I don’t know well criticise me, but people who are close to me just have to look at me ‘wrong’ and I break inside.
I’m very body confident after a few years of being overweight in my early 20s, but Instagram’s skinny fitspos still sometimes get to me.
I find it very hard to talk about my feelings but I talk about feelings a lot with my kids and I’m trying my hardest to make sure they never become bottler-uppers like me.
I love food but I hate to cook.
I often KNOW and FEEL completely different things.
Have a look around and tell me what you think. Or send me a question.
Or send me food/running shoes for honest reviews 😉
